Behaviour Modification for Biting Cats

Have the owner starting a behavior modification program with this cat. First have them avoiding any situation where the cat may attack (i.e. petting and handling), perhaps confine the cat so it cannot attack from behind. Second have the owner deprive any attention or rewards from the cat, when the cat wants it. After the cat is “starving” for some attention the owner should give the attention at the owners terms but recognize the threshold (how long the cat will sit and enjoy before she’ll attack) and just before it or just when the cat shows the first sign of having enough the owner should put the cat down and reward it. Slow desensitization would work the best in this case together with preventing further attacks. The owner can also try hand feeding the cat, by this getting her used to attention again.
